We'll be featuring the works of internationally acclaimed and national geographic photographer Daniel Wisdom (affectionately known as Gandalf the great.) A hidden talent at RAD and one we're proud off. Gandalf will be doing a presentation on some of his works and answering your questions. Management and friends of RAD would like to wish Fairy and her band of merry divers a safe journey on the PALAU trip.. the guys fly out Friday and are gone for 10days exploring the beautiful crystal clear waters of the islands that make PALAU. They plan to visit the Jelly fish lakes, dive the world famous Blue holes and dive the awe inspiring Blue corner where big sharks and turtle action is plentiful. Last time we were there the team encountered big ocean whalers up close and personal... you could just about touch them was the cry phrase on surfacing.
Never fear, If you didn't make PALAU and are chasing some action why not consider the upcoming trips that RAD are offering... come dive the HMAS Brisbane with the Crew on 28-31 July and chase the rush of wreck diving. Wreck diving is not your cup of tea then there is always the Thrasher sharks of Philippines happening 2-9 Sept.

The 20011 Season for mantas has kicked off with a Boom. For the last two weekends in a row we have seen Mantas at several sights around Pelorus Island. One site called Pillow point 5 Mantas in a row one after the other coming into a cleaning station it was truly a awe inspiring sight and a big bonus for the newly certified Divers out on the trip. Manta Sizes were varying with the biggest one being around the 4m mark. This old grand daddy of the deep had 5 remoras hanging of him and as they got closer to the divers they detached like little missiles to come over and check us out. Only to return to the manta when we were not found worthy enough.
The Mantas were so placid that all of the divers got a good look over multiple encounters. Even the surface watch got a eyeful... check out his iPhone video
